Clueless Stage

This is the absolute beginning. This is the period where you have made the decision to start a successful home based business and take your financial future by the horns.

Unfortunately at this stage if you are like most folks who start an internet home business you have no idea how to create web pages, have a site hosted, perform search engine optimization, understand auto responders etc.

There can be a steep learning curve for many people. But do not let this discourage you from getting started. If you no how to ask questions clearly then there are a bunch of places where you can get answers for starting your internet home based business.

Got A Clue Stage

This is where pieces start to fall in place about your home business. You have a good understanding of those things that you were first exposed to in the Clueless Stage. You are in control of your site and performing the steps necessary to get your home business established and noticed by the rest of the world. But you are frustrated because things are not happening as fast as you are putting them in place. You are running at a hundred miles an hour on the information super highway but your business is moving like molasses in mid February.

GOT IT Stage!

This is when all the light bulbs in your head fire off at once. You have learned what works and what doesn't work when it comes to getting your business noticed and you have become your own best resource for building your home business. You realize that the actions you perform today will payoff not tomorrow but next week. And the actions you perform tomorrow will be combined with what you have done today and have twice as much power as what you did only today.

Everyday that you do things to build your home based business you are setting the wheels of momentum into motion that eventually develop the snow ball effect.

Show Up For The Game!

This past weekend was extremely exciting for football fans. Patriots vs. Colts. This was the deciding game that would either send the Colts to the bowl or send them home just short of reaching the big show as they have so many times before.

The first half seemed as if the Patriots had locked up the game and were a shoe in for the win. But man would I have loved to have been a fly on the Colts locker room wall to hear what it was that inspired them to finish off the patriots with a 38 to 34 win.

They came back onto the filed with their heads held high and play a game that kept us on the edge of our seats. They clearly came to win!

I have seen this same thing happen so many times with people trying to start an internet home business. They come out of the gates blazing ready for success, but when met with some adversity they lose the fight inside of them to finish what they originally set out to do…create a PROFITABLE HOME BUSINESS!

Just as the Colts went back into the locker room to restore their original reasons for showing up to the game, you must do exactly the same. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Steve Vickers. The author of this blog and owner of http://www.info-from-us.com an Internet Home Business information and opportunity website.

I help people who want to learn how to operate and run a profitable home business.

This is the first of a series of posts that you can add to your toolbox of business building techniques.

So let's get started!

In today's lesson, you're going to learn the BASICS OF EMAIL MARKETING.

Right now you're probably thinking Basics don't sound very exciting. But the basics are the foundation upon which everything else is built. If you do not get a good handle on the basics first, you may end up spinning your wheels for the next 12 months. (Wouldn't you rather be spinning stories about how you made your first million?)

So grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable and let's get ready to rumble!

Essential Rules For Effective Email Marketing

Email campaigns can drive your internet home business to new heights. If you want an email campaign to succeed, you must be careful not to offend the reader when sending your messages. If you turn off a consumer with your email you can be sure they'll tune out your message. Don't let this happen to you!

In order for your message to generate sales it must first earn respect. That's why our first topic for discussion is email etiquette. (Later in the course, we'll talk more about how to write an email sales letter for your home business.)

Train yourself to always -- and I mean ALWAYS -- stick to the rules below when crafting your email message.

=>#1 - ALWAYS WRAP YOUR LINES AT 65 CHARACTERS OR LESS

When you write your email message always break the lines so that they are no more than 65 characters in length. In order to make this happen you may have to enter a carriage return by hitting the "Enter" key at the end of a line.

No are you wondering why you should limit your lines to just 65 characters?
That's a great question! This shows that you are starting to think like a successful internet home business entrepreneur. There are 2 reasons that less characters is really more.

-- First you should remember that reading a computer monitor for long periods of time casue Eye Fatigue for many readers. When you limit the characters in your in your lines to 65 characters the message makes for easier reading is more appealing to your message recipient.

-- The second reason is that many email clients tend to truncate email messages at around 60 - 65 characters. So if your lines continue to 70 or more characters they arrive chopped up and very unappealing to the reader.

********** Rule 1 Tip **********
Email clients such as Outlook Express allow you to SET THE LINE-WRAP to any
character-width you choose. That means you won't have to hit Enter each time after typing 65 characters. Makes life easier!

If you do not use Outlook Express you can also type 65 asterisks or dashes in a Notepad file to create a template. Then paste your email below it to see if any lines extend too far to the right. If they do you have a guideline to follow to identify where the cutoff should be.

=># 2 - USE ALL CAPS WITH CAUTION

How many times have you changed the station on your TV tin order to avoid a screaming car sales person? Non one enjoys being screamed at let alone having it done by a sales person and this goes for email as well. Odds are, when someone has over-amped the volume of their message by using too many capital letters (not to mention too many exclamation points and other punctuation) - you're going to be turned off.

On the Internet, email messages written in all caps are considered yelling. It's okay to write some sentences and some words in all caps, but don't go overboard. (As you can see in this message, I've tried to use capital letters to help break up sections of the content from time to time)

********** Rule 2 Tip **********
Consumers buy from a source they trust. Emails in all caps are perceived as "shady" or uneducated, and have an appearance that damages the credibility of an offer.

=> #3 - WATCH YOUR Ps & Qs (Spelling and Grammar)

I can't tell you how much this annoys me. Especially when Spell Check is part of so many programs these days. Would you be influenced by an email selling you something that had noticeable spelling and grammar mistakes? Sure you would...and the influence would be negative, not positive! When a consumer reads a sales message that's filled with errors, they think to themselves, "Good grief, this person doesn't even take the time to get his emails right. His product is probably the same quality as his emails."

When you're in business, YOUR IMAGE IS YOUR REPUTATION and your reputation is the reason people buy from you or the guy down the block. It's essential that you create an image of INTEGRITY, CREDIBILITY, and HONESTY in the mind of your prospects. Sending emails filled with errors doesn't hurt your professional image...it destroys it. (Ouch!)

Well that wraps up lesson #1. Be sure to wrap your lines for an easier read, don't over do it using ALL CAPS, and so a spell and grammar check on your email message before sending it out.

Remember the basics are the foundation of a successful internet home business.

Get rich while working in your underwear!

How many times have we all seen a phrase, advertisement, pitch or whatever?

I will bet you don't have enough fingers and toes on everyone in your family to help you with that one. Marketers use lines like that because they know that staying at home and making a comfortable living with an internet home business is the fondest dream of millions of people.

Did you know that the majority of heart attacks occur around the hour of 9 a.m. on Monday mornings? It's true! It seems as if people really dread going to work and dealing with their boss so much after a weekend of freedom that it causes this to happen. So when someone comes along and offers an opportunity to live a life of freedom while allowing them to continue to pay their bills; heck why not check it out.

Now before we get ahead of ourselves we need to bring things back down to a level of reality. First is it really possible to run an internet home business that is more than just a hobby or a source of part time income? Can you really get rich working from home? What would it be like to trade your cubicle and necktie for a den and a pair of blue jeans?

Well I am here to tell you that yes you can create a fulltime income working from the comfort of your own home and yes it can exceed many times that f what you make at your current job.

Internet Home Based Businesses are one of the fastest growing kinds of enterprises in America today. As of this writing some 70 million people are currently doing some type of work out of their home. And many of those are doing business on the internet.

Unfortunately the majority of home workers however are not exactly getting rich. At least not right away. The average work from home American earns less than $15K/year. That may not be some bad extra loot to compliment a fulltime income, but let's face it, fifteen grand in by itself is not much better than poverty.

As master marketer and author Dr. Jeffrey Lant said: "Frankly, I never saw any benefit to staying home and being poor."

Lant, without so much as a business card, became a work-at-home millionaire, and is a perfect example of what truly can be achieved if you are serious about chucking your day job, staying home, and not settling for peanuts in exchange for your freedom. You can have it all -- you can stay home and make as much -- and more -- money than your current job provides you.

In this report I just want to briefly touch one of the most important rules on how to work from home and make big bucks.

Most people in America detest their jobs. Studies have shown that most people hate going to work on Monday morning only to have to endure another grueling week. Their saving grace is living for the freedom of the weekend. But even that freedom is short lived. It is hard to relax when the sounding of the alarm clock to signal another week is only a few hours away.

It makes sense that people hate their jobs. Everyday, there is a lot of butt kissing that needs to be done. There are endless meetings which usually accomplish nothing. There are pointless interruptions, a lot of drifting this way and that, and lot of idiot supervisors who do nothing but waste your time and then dog you for not accomplishing your share of work. There are co-workers you hate, and who would stab you in the back in a minute if it meant a raise for them instead of you.

People who choose to work at home are doing more than just escaping the yoke of their master; they have made a deep, firm, life-altering decision which says that health, happiness and prosperity depend vitally on the freedom to work for ourselves, and in doing so in the comfort of the home.

I want to emphasize the fact that in order to be successful with any work from home opportunity you must be absolutely serious! Nothing less than a fanatic who is utterly committed to making work at home not only a successful venture but a profound commitment for life. You must be convinced that a return to an outside office job would be the equivalent of a spiritual death sentence.

Many people hate their office jobs, but they have made an inner compromise with themselves. They have convinced themselves that their job is "not so bad," pays the bills, and that they can stick out because they have to. If you want to be truly successful at quitting your day job, there cannot be any room for such compromises in your soul. You have to take the attitude that to work any longer at your hateful job is a destruction of your inner self and leave only a shell of who you really long to be.

If you decide to take advantage of this truly rewarding opportunity to work from home I hope this report has opened your eyes as to the level of commitment which is needed to succeed.

What does it really take to succeed with an Internet Home Based Business?

This is a question that haunts so many new entrepreneurs who venture into the world of online marketing. Are there really secrets to finding a financial windfall with an internet business?

These are questions I would like to have not just myself but also you the reader to answer as well.

If you are the owner of a successful internet home business; what are some of the things that have helped your business become successful?

If you are new and are looking for answers; ask some specific questions so you can find that nugget of information you're searching for.

Let me kick this conversation off by saying that yes there are some secrets to online success.

One of them is consistency.

Some people start an online venture and run like a bat out of hell for a month see very few results and then eventually peter out.

Then you have the person who starts an online business and does a little here and a little there. They treat it more like a hobby than a business and eventually lose interest.

Listen if you want to build a profitable business on the internet that pays you dividends you need to apply consistent actions that produce results. Have fun with it but do it consistently. Set some business time aside for yourself that you can dedicate to your business. If you can set aside an hour a day that's great! If you can set aside 2 hours on Monday and Wednesday then that's great too! But the key is to DO IT! Dedicate those times as Building Your Business time and keep at it.
